Newsletter No.5 - October 2006

Dear Friends.

Just to remind you, and to extend a warm welcome to all, to our last event for this year. I do hope you can come. If you haven’t been before I think you would enjoy meeting many very friendly people and leaving with much food for thought. For those who need CPD. All our events would count as there is a teaching element to them all and we would gladly send a Certificate of Attendance on request

MEETING ON SUNDAY DECEMBER 3rd at Pax Lodge

Judith O’Hagan is giving us a day on “The Wounded Healer”.

This workshop was originally designed for Bristol Cancer Help Centre, where it is part of the “Expert Series” workshops. I use Transpersonal techniques to explore how conscious and unconscious wounding plays out in the therapeutic process

Chiron is a very Transpersonal hero. The Wounded Healer, he was also a master of creativity, medicines, education and “the polite arts”. We will start by looking at his story.

We will use gestalt exercises and an adapted Jungian map to explore how the “wounded healer” expresses itself, what happens if this archetype gets split and how we can integrate the polarities of “wounded” and “healer” in our work and for ourselves

We will also use a Transpersonal Inner Journey to befriend our woundedness and understand how this contributes to our motivation to help others

In case this sounds too dry we should remember that Chiron was a Centaur – a rebellious bunch of outsiders who specialised in making Retsina. I look forward to sharing a toast to Chiron with you at the end of the day!!

We have various ideas for the workshops including spending a day doing the Transformation Game. If anyone has the game and would be willing to lend it to us for the day please let me know

We have also thought of a story telling day

TRANSPERSONAL REVISITED. A LONG RESIDENTIAL WEEKEND

I have booked Charney Manor. In Oxfordshire (see their website)

DATES. Friday 14th March to Sunday 16th March 2008

The suggestion is that we meet on the afternoon/ evening of Friday and leave on Sunday in the afternoon

Sheila is preparing a questionnaire for you so that you can tell us how you would like to spend the weekend

I know it’s a long time ahead but please KEEP IT IN YOUR FORWARD DIARY

It would be such a chance for us all to meet up for a longer time and for those of you who live too far away to come to our Sunday meetings in London to re-connect with each other

I can’t believe that this will be the last news letter before Christmas so (well in advance) Seasons Greetings to one and all
